As a writer, you’re in charge of the fates your characters will face. Some people tend to believe that it’s about either life or death, but the matter is more complicated. Every time you put the character on the path of death, you destroy the part of yourself. It’s true if you put that character on some hard journey that is physically and emotionally draining—you’re still destroying a part of yourself. I still haven't figured out what it’s exactly, or how to phrase it. But imagine that everything that happened with your character happened with you. Sounds strange is it not? To be honest, it’s all strangely strange with writing.
